After completing a few beginner challenges in Madden 21 Ultimate Team, players are given the choice of a Team Captain. Upon picking a Team Captain, Madden 21 players will be able to upgrade that captain. Upgrading the captain is essential to getting the best out of that player card. In order to upgrade, Team Captain tokens must be used.

There are multiple ways to get Team Captain tokens in Madden 21. The biggest thing to remember though, is that only three can be used per series. Once three are earned or used, players do not have to burn coins for more. Just simply wait for a new series to start in order to earn and use another set of three.

Missions are the most effective and least expensive way of earning Team Captain tokens in Madden 21. These missions take some time, but those who are patient, will be rewarded. The first way is to earn one is by completing all of the preliminary Rivalz challenges. A second Team Captain token can be earned through the Team Affinity challenges. Complete all 16 of the team builder challenges, and another token is yours.

The third mission centered way to earn a Madden 21 Team Captain token is very time consuming and difficult compared to the other ways. Players need to complete any available diamond team set. Three team diamonds will be needed in order to complete a diamond team set and earn the token.

These other methods are a lot simpler than the mission methods. However, they do cost in-game or real life currencies. A Madden 21 Team Captain token can be purchased in the game for 15k coins. A player with 40 Competitive Trophies can use those to buy a Team Captain token as well. Other than that, players can buy a Team Captain token in Madden 21 with real money.
