As with many other whole ingredients, Olives need to be grown. To accomplish that, players will need to get their hands on Olive Branches. These are similar to seeds from other plants and as such, can be dug up from soil patches. Also like other flora in the game, they are exclusive to specific locations - namely the region of Mount Olympus.
Added via the Olympic Update, this is the third region on the Surface past the Rift of Thessaly. As such, players must not just beat the cyclops Polyphemujs in the first area, but also the Rail of Adamant-wielding Eris who will block protagonist Melinoe's path to Olympus. Once there, players can use their Silver Spade tool to dig up any soil mounds to get Olive Branches.
Back at the Crossroads hub area, these Olive Branches can be added to the soil, which will cause them to gradually harvest into Olives ripe for picking. This does take a while, namely 24 encounters so players must be patient. If they are hurting for space, they can use the Flourishing Soil Incantation in the Cauldron to increase the amount of soil slots.
Once Olives are obtained, they can be picked and stored away in the backpack. As reagents, they will primarily see uses in the Cauldron as part of Incantations. One such example is the "Attending A Faithful Beast" Incantation which requires Tears (x1) and Olives (x3), granting a boost to any resources harvested by an Animal Familiar during runs.
