Prestige is one of the new gameplay mechanics introduced in Hades 2 with its Olympic Update. This allows neat cosmetic flourishes to be added to the Crossroads, allowing players to lend a touch of their own personality to the hub area. As a returning feature from the first game, longtime fans will be delighted to know what's on offer.

Unlocking it can be a tad confusing, however, as some prerequisites must be met. This guide explains everything about unlocking using Prestige in Hades 2.

Prestige is a new form of resource in the game, but before players can go about using it, it must be first unlocked as a feature. This is done via Incantations, the progression system in Hades 2 that allows turning in reagents to unlock new aspects of gameplay, crafting new ingredients, unlocking new locations, and more.

The Incantation for Prestige is called Earthly Fortune. It requires Bones (x100) to activate at the Crossroads Cauldron and once done, players can visit the Wretched Broker's Recycling Service tab to trade certain items in exchange for Prestige, such as Rubbish (from Eris), Plants, Ashes, Psyche, and so on - essentially anything that isn't Fishes.

Note that if the Incantation does not appear, players may need to make some progress in the story to have that happen.

Players can visit Dora in the Crossroads and select the Decorate option under her to initiate the personalization process. She spawns in three different locations in the hub: Melinoe's Tent, near the large Cauldron, and next to the Keepsakes chest in the Training Grounds.

Each interaction brings up different decoration locales in that region to decorate and players can spend Prestige to purchase the cosmetics they like. The number of cosmetic choices ranges from a handful to well over a dozen, depending on the area. New decor will also be unlocked as Melonoe's relationships with her companions deepen.
