How to hide the UI in Genshin Impact

The new ability to hide the UI in Genshin Impact can be a massive game-changer for all Teyvat photography enthusiasts out there. After all, many of you like recording footage of beautiful scenery or getting some screenshots in the midst of an ongoing battle. While the inbuilt Photo Mode is great, it does have its fair bit of limitations.

The hide UI functionality is one of the most notable features in the Genshin Impact 4.8 patch notes. This article goes over how you can hide the UI on the various platforms the game is available on.

Steps to hide the UI in Genshin Impact

PC

It is quite easy to hide the UI in Genshin Impact if you're on PC. Simply tap the "\" button on your keyboard to get rid of the HUD. You can enable it again by pressing the same button.

PlayStation and mobile devices (Android and iOS)

PlayStation and mobile users will have to work a bit to get rid of the HUD while exploring the world of Teyvat. Follow these steps to hide the UI:

• Pause the game and go to Settings (the gear icon)
• Go to the last section called Other.
• Here, you will spot an option called Hide Main Menu. Select On to hide the UI.
• To disable, repeat the same process and turn off the Hide Main Menu option, and you will have the HUD enabled again.

PC users can also use the same method to turn off the HUD, provided they are using a controller and don't have their keyboard connected to their device.

While the new hide UI feature will come in handy while recording footage, it does come with a few disadvantages.

Firstly, it will disable the character portrait on the right side, which may handicap you during combat. It will also disable most of the HUD elements, meaning you will have no way of knowing if your characters have their Elemental Burst/Skill available or not.

Disabling the UI also gets rid of enemies' HP bars, making fighting them a game of guessing.

Thus, while the feature to hide the UI in Genshin Impact is extremely useful during exploration, make sure to enable the HUD before fighting enemies.
