The method to invite friends to Deadlock is quite straightforward. Valve's title is an interesting blend of MOBA and third-person shooter, and despite being in an early development phase, it has already been gaining hundreds of thousands of concurrent players daily.

Considering that it is an invite-only game, getting access to it is a bit tricky. However, if you already have it, you can easily invite friends to Deadlock. This will allow you to build a full lobby for more fun.

On that note, here's a complete guide to understand Deadlock's invite system.

How to invite people to Deadlock

The players who already have access to Deadlock can invite anyone without any hassle. The only eligibility criteria is that the person receiving the invite must not be a Limited Steam User. As per the Steam website, here's what it means:

  • The user has never purchased anything on Steam.
  • The user has never funded their Steam Wallet.
  • The user has not filled in the necessary information on their Steam profile.

In order to remove this limitation, the player must spend at least $5 on Steam to buy anything such as a game, or cosmetic item, or just buy wallet funds and keep them for a future purchase. If you try to trick the website by buying something and then immediately applying for a refund, your profile will remain limited and likely get a temporary ban.

If the player is eligible, here's a step-wise guide to invite them:

1) Launch Deadlock

The first thing you need to do is launch the game. You can not send an invitation using the Steam app.

2) Click the button in the bottom-right corner

Once you launch the game, you will see a window in the bottom-right corner of the screen with an "Invite your Friends" button. Click on it and wait for it to load. It could take a few seconds when opening for the first time as it scans all the profiles in your Steam Friends List.

3) Find your friend's profile

When the invitation window opens, you will see three sections: Can Invite, Invite Pending, and Already Joined. The "Can Invite" section has all your friends that neither have access nor anyone has invited yet. Simply click on their name and send an invite.

The game typically takes a few hours to send the invite to the player. However, during high time, when the servers are too busy, it can take up to two days to send the invitation.

When someone sends you an invitation to the game, you will receive a notification about it on both the Steam app and your registered email ID. Simply click on "View Invite" and accept it.

If you have only received an email and don't see an invitation on the Steam app, it's most likely scam. To avoid this, make sure that the invitation email ID is [email protected]. Do not click on any links if you are unsure.

So, this is how you can get access to Valve's highly anticipated game. It should be noted that Deadlock is in an early development playtesting mode, so any progress made here will likely be reset with the official release. Also, Deadlock's official release date hasn't been announced yet.
