PUBG is all set to bring back the Dragon's Isle map as the Fantasy Battle Royale mode makes a comeback. Within this mode, players can choose from one of four classes: Wizards, Barbarians, Rangers, and Paladins. Each one of these has its own unique set of abilities and thereby, playstyles. Players must first choose their class and then get into the game to fight against other teams in this limited-time mode.

The official X page of the game revealed that the PUBG Fantasy Battle Royale mode will begin on the PC on July 24, 2024, and end on August 7 UTC. For consoles, the dates are July 31 to August 14 UTC. The mode has not been made available on PUBG Mobile as of now.

The four classes in the PUBG Fantasy Battle Royale mode differ in terms of range. For instance, the Barbarian class is useful to mow down opponents in close range by using melee attacks while the Wizards and Rangers are experts at dealing long-range damage. This guide will first discuss the abilities of these classes.

Barbarian

The Barbarian attacks opponents with the Kick Ash Longsword, a melee weapon that deals rapid damage. The character also gains additional movement speed each time a successful blow lands on the enemy. This character is comparatively more durable than the Ranger and Wizard classes.

Furthermore, the Barbarian also has Mega Energy Drinks that help regain a large chunk of HP over time. Try to have not more than one Barbarian in your team as the class is pretty limited in terms of range.

Wizard

The Wizard is an easy target since this character does not have a lot of HP. However, they can rain down fire on the opponent and happen to have a Flare Gun that can fire two consecutive rounds of Fire Balls over a long range.

Yet again, have at least one Wizard in your team since this class can easily take apart vehicles and in the process, deal heavy damage to an entire team at once.

Ranger

The Ranger is the Sniper of the team. They also have less HP compared to the Barbarian but more than the Wizard. Equipped with a Crossbow, the Ranger is the sneakiest character of the team. However, it is perhaps the one character with the highest skill ceiling during the PUBG Fantasy Battle Royale event.

This class also carries Flash Powder grenades that blind enemies and help allies receive lesser damage than usual. If you have two competent snipers on your team, it's not a bad idea to have two Rangers but it is still best to only have one.

Paladin

The Paladin boasts a hefty HP bar but has movement restrictions since this class cannot ledge grab in the PUBG Fantasy Battle Royale mode. However, if you have a Wizard or Ranger on your team, having a Paladin almost becomes necessary since this class is all about protecting allies.

The Paladin can block attacks with its Brooklyn Shield and also heal allies with the melee Mendingstar attack. Furthermore, the character also has a healing grenade that can mend ally HP in a limited range.

How to play?

Perhaps the best team format is to have one of each class during the PUBG Fantasy Battle Royale event. Barbarians can be deployed quickly after spawning if you've landed in an area with a cluster of buildings. This class can go to work fast as they attempt to quickly eliminate members of the other teams.

Remember, Barbarians gain speed with each successful attack, use this speed to get in and out of tricky situations whenever need be, and reunite with your team to heal yourself up.

Meanwhile, the Wizard, Ranger, and Paladin can stick together initially as they attempt to gather enough supplies. In this mode, you'll find crafting materials that help upgrade your gear. Find as many of these as possible to gain an advantage over your enemies.

You can then roam the map or go to important locations where you're most likely to find other teams. The rule of thumb in PlayerUnkown's Battle Grounds is to remain on the move.

Yet again, the Barbarian can quickly close the distance while the Wizard and Ranger let off attacks from a distance. The Paladin can choose to either help the Barbarian or stay with the others depending on the distance between the enemy and the ally team.

If the Ranger and Wizard can remain safe without much help, perhaps the Paladin can go into battle and heal the Barbarian on the go whenever needed. Always look out for care packages. These have the Zircon, a powerful gem that can help upgrade your gear to level 5, the highest level.
