Understanding loot farming after the Clash of Clans September 2024 update

To farm effectively after the update, it's crucial to understand how the loot is calculated. Previously, Collectors would yield 50% of the resources inside them, while Dark Elixir Drills provided 75%. The Treasury only gave out 3% of its resources, and the Town Hall provided 10% of the resources it stored. However, these percentages were capped depending on the Town Hall level.

With the latest Clash of Clans September 2024 update, both the capped amount of resources and the percentages have changed, making it easier to reach the maximum cap. This change also affects Dark Elixir storage. Players can now gain a significantly higher amount of loot from bases. For example, a Supercharged Town Hall 16 can now yield up to 3.2 million Gold and Elixir.

Here are the required strategies to maximizing loot farming after the update:

  • Target active bases: Previously, dead bases were the best targets due to the high resource output from Collectors. However, with the Clash of Clans September 2024 update, storages now hold even more potential loot than resource Collectors, making active players viable targets. The best targets are those who have been farming for expensive upgrades but haven't checked their accounts for a while, possibly due to work or offline issues.
  • Attack higher-level players: Targeting higher-level players, particularly those having Town Hall 16, can be advantageous. These players often have large amounts of resources stored for upgrades, making them ideal targets.
  • Choose the right league: The Clash of Clans September 2024 update has removed the dilemma between farming in higher leagues for more loot or staying in lower leagues for easier resources. Now, you can attack opponents of your Town Hall level or one level higher, maximizing loot while minimizing losses. High-level players are also penalized for dropping to lower leagues, as they lose potential loot opportunities.
  • Use Magic Snacks efficiently: The new Magic Snacks, including the Clan Castle Cake and Training Treat, can significantly boost farming efficiency. Training Treat, in particular, is beneficial as it provides boosted troop training for either 20 minutes or 10 raids. Since raids take three minutes on average, it's essential to use those strategies that can end the raid sooner. For instance, training and deploying Yetis and Eletro Dragons for spam-based strategies can enhance the efficiency of the Training Treat.
  • Know the resource cap: Be aware of the amount of resources required to reach the cap for potential loot. For instance, at Town Hall 16, having 13.5 million gold or elixir allows an opponent to steal up to 1.6 million of each. Avoid accumulating more resources than needed for upgrades and spend or shield your resources accordingly.
  • Avoid upgrading Collectors: About 50% of Collector's resources are up for grabs in each raid. Thus, it is recommended to not upgrade them at all. Upgrading collectors to the maximum level only provides 1.1 million Gold or Elixir per day, an amount that can easily be earned in a single attack. The only exception might be the Dark Elixir Drill which provides a decent 25,000 Dark Elixir per day.
  • Protect Storages: Following the Clash of Clans September 2024 update, Storages have become the primary targets for attackers, especially at higher Town Hall levels. Prioritize defending these with well-planned base layouts, like the crows' base, which places all Storage in the center of the base to maximize protection.
