The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is easily one of the most powerful weapons that you can get your hands on pretty early. From the looks of it, you would expect it to scale with Strength and Intelligence akin to the Ruins Greatsword. However, the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword scales with Strength and Arcane.

Arcane as a scaling factor is quite rare for Greatswords, especially since these weapons don't usually come with Bleed infusion. Much like other weapons within its category, the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword doesn't have any Bleed infusion; instead, the Arcane scaling basically empowers the weapon's Ash of War.

Here's a comprehensive guide on how to obtain the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

Where to find the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword is found in the Ruined Forge of the Starfall Past. The Ruined Forge is located southeast of the Moorth Ruins, just past the Fort of Reprimand. Elden Ring features a handful of these Ruined Forges, each of which are mini-dungeons that do not house a boss at the end, but do reward you with unique weapons.

To get the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, you first need to head into the Ruined Forge of the Starfall Past and make your way to the innermost part of the dungeon. You will have to reach a hidden altar within the dungeon, which requires pulling a couple of levers that you will find as you explore the Ruined Forge.

Thankfully going through the Ruined Forge isn't particularly challenging outside of the Stone Blacksmiths (Golem Smiths), who can be quite difficult to kill. While we recommend running past the Golems, you will need to stagger them and deal a critical hit via a backstab if you do want to kill them.

Staggering and dealing critical damage to the Golem Smiths three times in a row will kill them. You can speed up the process by using a Colossal weapon and charging a heavy attack as soon as you deal a critical hit. Once you deal with all the Golem Smiths, progress through the Ruined Forge as intended and you will eventually reach the altar.
