How to obtain the Auspicious Lantern in Black Myth Wukong

The Auspicious Lantern is one of the secret Curios in Black Myth Wukong that you can obtain after defeating the Lantern Warden enemies in Pagoda Realm. Black Myth Wukong doesn't shy away from hiding some of its most powerful combat gear behind side quests or optional activities that you can completely miss out on. The Auspicious Lantern is one such combat trinket.

While it's not necessarily as powerful as something like the Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear, it's still a Curios that can help you get past the first couple of chapters in Black Myth Wukong with relative ease.

Furthermore, getting the Auspicious Lantern also helps a ton against one of the most annoying bosses in Chapter 3 — Captain Wise-Voice.

Where to find the Auspicious Lantern in Black Myth Wukong

The Auspicious Lantern can be found after defeating all the Lantern Warden enemies in the Pagoda Realm of Black Myth Wukong. However, you will need to kill all the Lantern Wardens before you reach the final boss of the Pagoda Realm - Captain Wise-Voice.

If you defeat Captain Wise-Voice before killing all the Lantern Wardens, they will disappear permanently for your current playthrough.

The Lantern Wardens only appear when the Pagoda Wheel starts spinning, which has a downtime of roughly four to five minutes. The spinning of the Pagoda Wheel is signified with a red hue across the screen as well as a curse that constantly eats away at the Destined One's total HP.

Each floor of the Pagoda Realm houses at least two of these Lantern Wardens. There are a total of nine Lantern Wander enemies in the entire area.

By the time you reach the uppermost level of the Pagoda Realm, you'll have killed eight Lantern Wardens. The final Warden can be found to the east of the uppermost Keeper's Shrine, past the platform with multiple frozen monks.

From the platform, fall down to the ledge below and proceed past the cells. Once the Pagoda Wheel starts spinning again, the final Lantern Warden will appear, and killing it will earn you the Auspicious Lantern. Do note that you have to kill all nine Lantern Wardens before defeating Captain Wise-Voice.

If you miss out on grabbing the Auspicious Lantern before killing the final boss of the Pagoda Realm, you will have to wait till you reach the same area in Black Myth Wukong's New Game+ to obtain it.

The Auspicious Lantern essentially increases your attack power for a short duration but limits your total HP, akin to the Pagoda's curse.
