Having fuel in Manor Lords is an important facet, at least in the colder months of the year. Players don’t want their people to freeze and perish in the snows of winter. With that in mind, it’s something you should consider stocking up on much earlier, and getting this valuable resource is not too complicated. New players could easily forget about fuel and consequently suffer losses later in the year.

Firewood is vital, but you could overlook this resource since it’s not all that important in the hotter parts of the year. That said, keep a stock on hand, and if you want fuel in Manor Lords, we’re here to help you have a steady supply.

Firewood is your source of fuel in Manor Lords. To farm this up, you’re going to need the Woodcutter’s Lodge. It’s a basic building, and you shouldn’t have too much trouble constructing one; just do so near the woods. Building a Woodcutter’s Lodge only costs 1 timber, so it is a simple matter of constructing one of these.

You should already have a Logging Camp to produce timber, so whenever you’re ready to start securing fuel in Manor Lords, build the Woodcutter’s Lodge. However, it won’t produce any fuel until you have someone working there. At first, you'll want to move this building around, when the tree line thins out. Later, you'll want a Forester's Hut, so people will plant more trees, ensuring infinite fuel.

Make sure you assign a family the task of running this building. If you have a market stall as well, your villagers can purchase the fuel to keep their homes warm. Each house in Manor Lords uses 1 fuel a month, but that doubles in the winter months. The more areas you claim, the more Woodcutter’s Lodges you’ll need, and the more fuel you’ll also require.

Remember that some of your other buildings need fuel too; for me, I try to keep an abundance of this resource around. It’s better to have extra than not enough. Thankfully, the game also tells you how many months of fuel you have in the Supplies screen.

Plenty of things need to be prioritized in the development tree, but one thing you should consider is Charcoal Burning. This lets you craft a building that converts 1 Firewood into 2 Charcoal. Now, you can produce fuel more efficiently. With that in mind, always place this building near a Woodcutter’s Lodge, so you can swiftly build up your stock.

Not having a steady supply of fuel in Manor Lords for the cold, winter months is dangerous; prepare for this early so you don’t have to rush and put several people on this task when the temperatures start to drop. Once you have that Charcoal Kiln, make sure you assign someone to it.

Manor Lords is a recently-released city builder that also boasts real-time warfare. Players can develop villages, expand their influence, and even explore their territory using the third-person mode.
