How to obtain the Golden Lining Transformation in Black Myth Wukong

The Golden Lining Transformation is among the most powerful Spells in Black Myth Wukong. Surprisingly enough, despite it being an end-game-worthy Transformation Spell, the Golden Lining can be acquired fairly early in the game. You essentially obtain the Golden Lining after defeating the Yellow Loong, one of the optional boss fights in Chapter 4 (The Webbed Hollow).

However, there are a couple of caveats to obtaining the Golden Lining. Firstly, the Yellow Loong boss fight isn't unlocked until you defeat the Red, Black, and Cyan Loongs. The Loong battles, due to being optional, are hidden behind a very obscure side quest, which you can only start upon obtaining the Loong Scales.

Once you do reach the Yellow Loong, you will be faced with one of the toughest encounters in the entire game, seconded only by the likes of Erlang, the Sacred Divinity, and the Great Sage himself. Prerequisites to obtaining the Golden Lining Transformation Spell in Black Myth Wukong

To obtain the Golden Lining Transformation Spell, you first need to find and acquire the Loong Scales in Chapter 2 (Yellow Wind Ridge). Next, you need to defeat the Red, Black, and Cyan Loongs in Chapters 1, 2, and 3, respectively. After defeating the 3 Loongs, you need to progress through Chapter 4 until you meet the Yellow Loong. Defeating the Yellow Loong rewards you with the Golden Lining Transformation.

However, you first need to obtain the Loong Scales. You can find the Loong Scales key item at the same arena where you fought the First Rat Prince boss. There's a wall (adorned by scriptures) in the arena, that you need to break to obtain the Loong Scales.

You can bait the boss to hit the wall and break it for you. Otherwise, you can simply use the Wandering Wight Spirit ability to break the wall and enter it. Inside the wall, you will find a chest that contains the Loong Scales. With the Loong Scales in your possession, you need to find the three hidden Loongs.

Once you defeat the Yellow Loong in Chapter 4 (The Webbed Hollow), you will obtain the Golden Lining Transformation as well as some rare crafting resources. The Golden Lining transforms the Destined One into the Yellow Loong, giving you access to lightning-based attacks. Do note that this Transformation isn't missable and you can grab it even after finishing the main story.
