Not only does it serve as a rather fun Easter egg, but the Preservation Orb is also one of the best Curios in Black Myth Wukong. The primary perk of the orb substantially increases Health, Mana, and Stamina. However, the catch is that the Curios' perks only take effect after resurrecting.

Where to find the Preservation Orb in Black Myth Wukong

The Preservation Orb in Black Myth Wukong is obtained in Chapter 4 (The Webbed Hollow). However, you can only get the Curios after completing Chapter 4, i.e., defeating the final boss of the chapter - Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master. The Preservation Orb is connected to the Violet Spider and Zhu Bajie: both shared a history together before going their separate ways.

This was long before Zhu Bajie came in contact with Sun Wukong and set out on the Journey to the West. The finale of Chapter 4 sees the Violet Spider succumb to her injuries which came as a result of the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master extracting Wukong's Relic out of her.

As a way to pay his respects and homage to the Violet Spider, Zhu Bajie leaves a small treasure box close to her grave. This is the chest that houses the Preservation Orb. Unfortunately, the game never hints at this "treasure chest," and as a result, finding it without a guide or reference can be quite difficult, unless you accidentally stumble upon the Curios.

• Complete Chapter 4 (The Webbed Hollow) and reach Chapter 5 (The Flaming Mountains).
• Return to the Court of Illuminations Keeper's Shrine.
• From the Court of Illuminations Shrine, head southeast, towards the cave where you fight the Venom Daoist.
• Exit the cave to reach the other side of the area.
• Find a small treasure chest near the gravesite (marked by tombstones).
• Loot the treasure chest to obtain the Preservation Orb.

The Preservation Orb is one of the best Curios that you can use for your first playthrough. It is best used against boss fights, where if you do happen to die, you will resurrect with a massive buff to your HP, Mana, and Stamina.
