How to obtain Sword of Night in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is filled to the brim with new content. Around every corner, there are new weapons to find, like the Sword of Night Katana. It primarily scales with Dexterity and can be used at the center of some extremely strong Dexterity builds in Elden Ring. However, getting your hands on the Sword of Night is no simple task.

You can only unlock it after completing most of what there is to do in the Realm of Shadow. This article will show you how to obtain the Sword of Night in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

Where can you find the Sword of Night in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

To get your hands on the Sword of Night, complete Jolan and Count Ymir's questline. Find Count Ymir during the closing hours of Shadow of the Erdtree, he is located inside the Cathedral of Manus Metyr. You will also find Jolan hanging around the Cathedral. To complete Count Ymir's quest, ring three bells.

The first bell can be found at the Finger Ruins of Rhia. For the second bell, head to the Finger Ruins of Dheo which can be accessed from the Storeroom, Back Section Site of Grace. The last bell can be found after interacting with Count Ymir's chair. Speak to him and reset the area after you've rung the second bell. Doing so will allow you to interact with Ymir's chair and reveal the way to the third bell.

Go through the area below and ring the bell at the end. Doing so will start a fight with Metyr, The Mother of Fingers. After you've defeated her, travel back to the cathedral, and you will be invaded by Ymir, followed by Jolan. Once everyone has been defeated, reset the area for a final time.

Approach Jolan and hand over an Iris of Occultation to receive the Sword of Night katana from her. This is easily one of the best Dexterity weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. Moreover, its Ash of War, Witching Hour Slash, can deal a devastating amount of damage.
