The Vajra Armguard is one of the rarest armor drops in Black Myth Wukong, apart from the Venomous Armguard. Black Myth Wukong is quite generous when it comes to doling out armor sets at regular intervals. The game often lets you craft a new armor set, as well as weapon upgrades after defeating a main story boss or completing a chapter.

However, there are certain special armor sets and pieces that only unlock if you complete certain side quests, or defeat a certain enemy type. The Vajra Armguard is one such rare enemy drop that you will need to farm a special enemy type to stand a chance at obtaining it.

Here's a comprehensive guide on how to obtain the Vajra Armguard in Black Myth Wukong.

Where to find the Vajra Armguard in Black Myth Wukong?

The Vajra Armguard is a random drop from the Clay Vajra enemies that are found exclusively in the New Thunderclap Temple. However, there are only three such enemies in Black Myth Wukong, and one of them is a Spirit mini-boss, meaning it won't respawn after being killed. To find these enemies, you must head to Chapter 3 - The New West.

You can start from the Thunderclap Temple Entrance Keeper's Shrine. However, starting from the Mahavira Hall Shrine offers the easiest route to both the Clay Vajras that you can farm for the Vajra Armguard. The first Clay Vajra can be found on the path to the left of the Thunderclap Temple, close to the area where you fight the Monk from the Sea.

The second Clay Vajra can be found in the open area that's to the right of the Thunderclap Temple. It can be accessed via the small shrine-like structure that takes you to the Non-Void boss. However, instead of going up the boss arena, take a left from the shrine and reach the open area connected to it.

Here are some tips that should help you easily farm the Vajra Armguard in Black Myth Wukong:

  • While it is possible to farm items in the early stages of the game, it's best to do it as part of the late-game grind. This is so that you can have access to items like the Golden Carp and the Skull of Turtle Treasure to boost item discovery.
  • Furthermore, you can equip Cloud Spell as well as the Pilgrim's set to boost your movement speed, allowing you to cover larger distances in less time.
  • The Clay Vajra enemies are extremely weak to Frost damage, as such, the Apramana Bat Spirit is highly recommended to further speed up the farming process.
  • Usually, you should be able to get the Vajra Armguard upon the first dozen tries. However, if you don't obtain it after killing the Clay Vajra more than 20 times, you can try to do the farm after a game restart.

Unfortunately, the drop chances in Black Myth Wukong aren't defined by an upper limit. As such, if you're lucky, you might end up getting the Vajra Armguard upon the first few tries, and if not, then you might have to attempt the farm for quite a while. Thankfully, the Clay Vajra aren't particularly challenging enemies to kill, making the farming process a bit easier.
