How to play Boothill in Honkai Star Rail
How to play Boothill as a casual player in Honkai Star Rail
Casual players tend to use the auto-battle feature frequently. Hence, it is recommended that you place Boothill in a well-built hypercarry team, comprising Boothill, Ruan Mei, Bronya, and Gallagher.
Boothill’s skill activates the Standoff mode, which enhances his Basic ATK. During this time, the opponent will also get taunted, and whenever their Weakness is broken, Boothill gains a Pocket Trickshot stack.
Thus, all you are required to do when playing Boothill is make sure his Enhanced Basic ATK always stays active and utilize his Pocket Trickshot stacks to deal additional damage.
How to play Boothill optimally in Honkai Star Rail
Once you understand Boothill’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail, you can use them optimally.
When your Boothill build is complete with the right set of Relics and Light Cones, place him in any hypercarry-oriented team with Harmony units that reduce the opponents’ toughness or boost the DPS units’ Weakness Break efficiency.
At the start of the fight, use Boothill’s skill to trigger his Standoff mode. While in this state, utilize the support units’ buffs to enhance Boothill’s outgoing damage.
Every time you inflict Weakness Break, Boothill will gain a stack of Pocket Trickshot. Each stack of Pocket Trickshot boosts the Toughness reduction of Boothill’s Enhanced Basic ATK. Note that he also deals additional damage when inflicting Weakness Break with his Fanning the Hammer ability.
Boothill’s Ultimate ability is another source of damage and applies a Physical Weakness to an adversary for two turns. Although the scaling of most of the character's abilities are not very impressive, you can bring the most out of his kit by building him with high SPD stat. This will allow him to take additional turns in a single cycle.
