Spectre Divide's recent release has been getting a good amount of attention from the FPS gamers. The 3v3 tactical shooter from Mountaintop Studios combines the elements from many other online multiplayer shooters like Valorant and Counter-Strike while putting its own spin on things.

Like every other tactical shooter, Spectre Divide also allows you to play with your friends. In fact, playing with friends is one of the best ways to experience the game as it allows you to come up with proper plans and strategies. This article will help teach you the process of playing with friends in Spectre Divide.

Playing with friends in Spectre Divide

Like every other multiplayer game, the first step will be to make sure that the players you want to play with are added to your friends list. This can be achieved by following the steps below:

  1. Click on the Socials icon located at the top right corner of the screen. It will be right next to the Settings icon and will have your equipped banner on it.
  2. Later, click on the "Invites" section of the Socials section.
  3. Now click on the "Add Friends" option that is located right above "Spectre Divide Discord". This will open the Steam's friends menu list.
  4. To add friends on Steam, you will have to find "Your Friend Code". This can be found by clicking the option next to the friends search bar. It will be denoted by a human shape with a plus icon on it.
  5. Once you have clicked there, your friend code should be visible to you. You can copy that and send it to your friends so they can add you on Steam. An alternate way is to ask your friends for their code and paste it in the "Enter a Friend Code" option.
  6. If the friend's Friend Code is not visible, another way is to search for their username directly. However, this is a tedious alternative and may take a while as many people can have similar usernames.
  7. After adding your friend on Steam, their account should be visible on Spectre Divide's "Friends" section.
  8. Right-click on their name and select the "Invite to Party" option. Once they have accepted your request, you should be able to queue together for a match.

Creating a custom lobby

Almost every online multiplayer game allows you to create a custom lobby. With it, you can play on the map of your choice and with a lobby that is filled with all your friends. Mountaintop Studio's tactical shooter also allows you to create your own custom lobby. The ways to do so are very simple and can be done through Lobby codes.

  1. Firstly, click on the option above the Compete button. This will show you all the game modes currently available in Spectre Divide. Then, select the "Custom" option.
  2. Now go to the Socials tab and select the "Invites" option. Your Lobby Code should be visible below "Actions".
  3. Give this code to your friends and ask them to input it in the "Join Via Code" option which is located right below "Copy Code to Clipboard". The menu that opens up will look like the image shown below.

After inputting the code, they can click the "Join Lobby" option and they should be visible in your lobby. You can also join your friends' lobbies by using their Lobby Code and following the same process.

Keep in mind that the game's custom lobby does not offer a lot of options, as of this writing. It only allows you to select among the four current maps, the two overtime conditions, and the many region servers. The overtime condition has two options: Tie and Win by 2.
