Unfortunately, The Finals’ developers didn’t give an exact time when the open beta will begin, but we know that it will be on October 26, 2023. It will also run until November 5, 2023, on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S - sorry, last-gen console fans.

How to play on Steam

  • Search for the game on Steam
  • Select “Join Playtest” on the game’s Steam section.
  • Download when you receive a notification on Steam.

  • Wait for the notification on October 26, 2023.

The Finals developers are looking for player feedback and want to make sure the changes they made in earlier testing phases are going well with the fanbase. It’s also a stress test, so the more people playing, the better.

Thankfully, there will be plenty to do in the open beta of The Finals. There are three arenas, five game modes, 16 battle pass rewards, and competitive progression. It will also have 20 weapons, 26 gadgets, and 9 abilities for players to use, alongside a wealth of improvements from the closed beta tests.

Iconic Arenas

  • Skyway Stadium (NEW): Skyway Stadium is ever-changing and will test the limits of players’ skills.
  • Monaco: Run through the cobbled streets of Monaco and get ready for some intense close-quarters combat.
  • Seoul: For players that prefer vertical gameplay, climb the towering skyscrapers of Seoul, South Korea - but don’t fall!

Game Modes

  • Bank-It (NEW): Four teams of three battle it out for coins in a casual-friendly, combat-focused mode. Whoever hits the max limit first, or the team with the most banked cash at the end of a round, wins.
  • Unranked Tournament: A Cashout mode where four teams of three compete to find cashboxes and deposit them. Three rounds, 24 players.
  • Ranked Tournament. Cashout mode with four teams of three in a ranked format. Four rounds, 48 players.
  • Quick Cash: Casual-friendly version of Cashout - 3v3v3. Longer matches, faster respawn, faster extraction times, and only one vault at a time.

Perhaps one of the cooler things about The Finals’ open beta is that it has a 16-level Battle Pass. Even if you unlock these rewards during the open beta, you’ll get to keep them at launch. You can also gain 5 Mastery Levels per weapon.

The Competitive mode will go through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond ranks, with each having permanent rewards. If you get to Diamond, you will also receive an exclusive Legendary Diamond Weapon Skin.

The Finals’ open beta will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam from October 25 until November 5, 2023. It will be free to play, much like the previous closed beta.
