The Guards in Clash Royale is an Epic card that spawns three armored skeletons that do melee attacks. The armor protects the skeletons from high-damage hits. Notably, the card is unlocked at Arena 6 (PEKKA's Playhouse) and costs three elixirs to deploy. Additionally, the troops' movement speed is fast.
The Guards is a low elixir and low health card. It is well-suited for defense as it can slow down most single-target troops, as each skeleton takes at least two strikes to be defeated.

Guide to The Guards in Clash Royale
Ability
To defeat The Guards, the hitpoints of the armor and skeletons need to be depleted separately. Therefore, a single attack powerful enough to destroy the shield and the skeleton will only break the armor and leave behind the skeleton, which will have to be attacked again.
When the armor of the Guards are broken, they have the same stats as normal skeletons, except for a greater attack range.
Stats
Since The Guards is an Epic card, it is Level 6 when unlocked. Here are its stats at that stage:
- Count: 3
- Hitpoints (Per skeleton): 51
- Damage (Per skeleton): 76
- Shield Hitpoints (Per skeleton): 160
- Attack Speed: 1 second
The stats (other than count and attack speed) of this card in Clash Royale increase by 10% with each level-up.

Strategies for using The Guards in Clash Royale
The Guards is best used defensively as the troops have armor that allows them to survive the first attack from any card. Dash attacks of Prince, Dark Prince, Bandit, etc., do heavy damage that can defeat or heavily damage most troops. However, the Guards can not only sustain this attack, but also counterattack.
Certain troops like PEKKA, Mini PEKKA, and Sparky have slow attack speed, but massive attack damage to compensate for it. Such enemies can be countered or delayed by the Guards, as finishing all three skeletons will take at least six strikes. This will give you enough time to launch a counterattack if necessary.
The Guards in Clash Royale can also be a good counter against Inferno Dragons as the troops need to attack without interruption to do high damage. However, the Inferno Dragon must reset its after breaking a Guard's shield. The same concept applies to the Inferno Tower.
The greatest weakness of The Guards card in Clash Royale is splash damage troops. Those like Valkyrie, Wizard, and Firecracker can counter it without any hassle.
