Wuthering Waves Xiangli Yao rotations and playstyle guide

Xiangli Yao is an upcoming free 5-star Resonator capable of dealing considerable Electro damage to enemies. His playstyle consists of fast-paced attacks and requires a fair bit of on-field time to complete the combo.

Xiangli Yao's Basic Attacks consist of five consecutive attacks that deal Electro DMG. All of these charge his Forte Energy.

As for his Resonance Skill, Xiangli Yao performs a slash dealing Electro DMG, providing Forte Energy. Once his Forte Energy is full, you can unleash a special type of Resonance Skill to deal increased damage, whose countdown is independent of the normal Skill.

Xiangli Yao's Resonance Liberation is the main aspect of his gameplay. It has a high damage multiplier and allows him to enter the Intuition state. Under its effects, Xiangli Yao's abilities deal increased damage, which is counted as Liberation damage. You may want to start your battles by casting this ability and following it up with other attacks.

• Resonance Liberation > Forte Circuit > Resonance Skill > Basic Attacks > Intro Skill

When playing Xiangli Yao, the following would be his optimal rotation:

• Upon entering a battle, cast Resonance Liberation to deal damage and enter the Intuition state.
• Perform Basic Attacks and Resonance Skill to gain Forte Energy.
• Then use the Special Resonance Skill.
• Recharge Forte as mentioned in the second step to use the Special Resonance Skill two more times till the Intuition state ends.
• Swap out Xiangli Yao for your support characters, use their abilities, and restart the rotation.

Note that Yinlin and Verina are expected to be the best characters to be paired with Xiangli Yao in the sub-DPS and support roles, respectively.

Players can use Yinlin to deal off-field Electro damage to enemies and buff Xiangli Yao. This can be done by starting the combo with her Outro Skill, which will buff Xiangli Yao's Electro DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG.

As for Verina, she is among the best healers in Wuthering Waves. She can be a reliable shielder and healer for the team, ensuring survivability against tougher foes.
