There's a Secret Area in Chapter 1 of Black Myth Wukong that you can easily miss out on if you don't know where to look. Much like the games that inspired it, such as Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Sekiro, Black Myth Wukong is filled with secrets to uncover and the game's very first chapter is no exception to this rule.
The secret in Chapter 1 isn't too elaborate and constitutes only a boss fight. Nevertheless, it's still something that you don't want to miss out on if you're interested in the game's lore. However, unlike other action RPGs of similar ilk, Black Myth Wukong doesn't do a good job of guiding players towards its many secrets.
Here's a comprehensive guide on how to access the Secret Area in Chapter 1 of Black Myth Wukong.

Where to find the Secret Area in Chapter 1 of Black Myth Wukong?
There are technically two secret regions in the first chapter of Black Myth Wukong. However, for this guide, we will be focusing on the easier one, since the other Secret Area requires you to already have access to Chapter 2. That said, the Secret Area in Chapter 1, called the Ancient Guanyin Temple, can only be accessed after you ring three bells across the map.
The three bells and their locations in Black Myth Wukong (Chapter 1)
These three bells are scattered across the first half of the chapter and require you to defeat two main bosses and an optional boss. The first bell can be found near the second Keeper's Shrine. From the Shrine, proceed north past the waterfall.
You will eventually reach the boss arena of Guangzhi. Defeat Guangzhi to get his Transformation Spell—the Red Tides, and access to the first bell. Interact with the bell in the arena to start the quest for the hidden temple.
The second bell can be found near the Snake Trail Shrine, which you will reach automatically after defeating Lingxuzi. From the Snake Trail Keeper's Shrine, proceed to the east, and through the bamboo forest to reach the boss Guangmou. Instead of finding the next Keeper's Shrine after defeating him, head north from the arena to reach another bell.
The final bell can be found after defeating the main story boss Whiteclad Noble. Instead of immediately exiting from the boss arena via the path to the south, head through the small cave-like structure to the left. This will lead you to the final bell that you must ring to get teleported to the Secret Area of the Ancient Guanyin Temple.
The Ancient Guanyin Temple boss fight and rewards
The Ancient Guanyin Temple is home to the boss called Elder Jinchi, who is similar to the Wandering Wight, that you fight earlier in the chapter. That said, the present challenge is significantly more difficult. We recommend tackling the boss at Level 20 or above, with the Pillar Stance equipped. After defeating the Elder Jinchi, you will be rewarded with the Fireproof Mantle.
The Fireproof Mantle might not come in handy immediately, but it does help a lot with the final boss of Black Myth Wukong's first chapter.
