How to reach the Secret Area in Chapter 2 of Black Myth Wukong

The Secret Area in Chapter 2 of Black Myth Wukong is hidden behind a very missable side quest. While Black Myth Wukong might not be a soulslike game, it certainly has elements that are inspired by the genre, such as the "bonfire-esque" checkpoint system, multi-phase boss fights, metroidvania-inspired progression, and hidden secrets scattered across levels.

The Secret Area in Chapter 2 features an incredibly spectacular boss fight, which you definitely don't want to miss. However, the fact that it's hidden behind a side quest, which in itself is missable if you're not exploring every nook and cranny of the map, makes reaching the Secret Area a tad bit difficult.

Where to find the Secret Area in Chapter 2 of Black Myth Wukong?

To reach the Secret Area in Black Myth Wukong's Chapter 2, you first need to complete the first half of the map, i.e., get past the Tiger Vanguard boss fight. Once you make enough progress, you should return to the Keeper's Shrine near the Stone Vanguard boss fight arena and head to the area outside of it. You will find a few enemies patrolling the area.

Once you get past the enemies, head to the area on the left from the boss arena. Go through the small barrier and you will reach an open area at the center of which you will find an NPC. Talk to the NPC and he will ask you to bring him an artifact. Take note of the giant stone door in the area.

To get the artifact, head to the Tiger Vanguard boss arena. Instead of heading down the tunnel that opens up after the Tiger Vanguard boss fight, go past the Vanguard's throne, through the stairs leading to the area opposite the Temple. Explore the area thoroughly until you reach the end of it, and you will find the artifact inside an abandoned shack.

Now return to the NPC and talk to him again. This time around, he will ask you to bring him some "meat." To do so, head back to the Crouching Tiger Temple and you can find the NPC near the stairs leading to the Tiger Vanguard boss fight. Talk to him again and he will have one last request - a Jade Lotus.

If you've been exploring the opening chapter thoroughly, you should have plenty of Jade Lotus in your possession. If not, you can buy it at the merchant near the Cellar Keeper's Shrine. Once you have the Jade Lotus, return to the NPC and talk to him again. Next, you will need to meet the NPC in the area where you initially found him.

After going to his original area, the NPC (Yellow-Robed Squire) will become hostile and you will have to fight him. After defeating him, you will be able to proceed to the Secret Area via the giant stone door. The Secret Area leads you to a small deserted outpost, now inhabited by a giant sand beetle - Fuban.
