How to rent skins in CS2

In an unexpected turn of events, Valve announced on May 23, 2024, that players can now rent skins in CS2. This announcement was made with the release of the Kilowatt Case, which has the game's newest knife series, Kukri. The option to rent skins in CS2 gave all players a fair chance to experience using them in the game even if they can't afford them, as some Counter-Strike skins are sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It is to be noted that you can currently only rent skins from the Kilowatt Case. That said, here's how to rent skins in CS2.

As mentioned before, the renting option is only available for the Kilowatt Case as of now, although it is likely to be added for other weapon cases as well. Here are all the items from the Kilowatt collection in CS2:

• AWP: Chrome Cannon
• AK-47: Inheritance
• USP-S: Jawbreaker
• M4A1-S: Black Lotus
• Zeus x27: Olympus
• MP7: Just Smile
• Sawed-Off: Analog Input
• M4A4: Etch Lord
• Glock-18: Block-18
• Five-SeveN: Hybrid
• SSG 08: Dezastre
• Nova: Dark Sigil
• Tec-9: Slag
• XM1014: Irezumi
• UMP-45: Motorized
• MAC-10: Light Box
• Dual Berettas: Hideout
• Knife: Kukri

You can either unlock the Kilowatt Case for free if you are lucky enough (by playing for a few hours and claiming the Weekly Care Package) or buy it from the Steam Community Market. Here's how to rent these weapons:

• Launch the game, open your inventory, and select the Kilowatt Case.
• Select "Unlock using Killowatt Case Key" and buy a key from the Steam Market for $2.50.
• Next, look at the bottom right of your screen and you should have two options: "Open to Keep" and "Open to Rent".
• Select "Open to Rent", and all the skins will appear in your inventory.

Now you have successfully learned how to rent skins in CS2. Do note that the Kukri knife is not part of the renting scheme, and you cannot customize the weapon skins using stickers. You will have all 17 skins in random quality for seven days in your inventory, after which you need to buy another Kilowatt Case Key.
