The puzzle becomes available after players have reached Old Museum and Sara has informed James about Taylor and her unlocked bedroom.

Upon entering Sara’s bedroom, players will find a Chicken of Justice comic book lying on the bed. Inspecting and reading it will reveal details about a secret puzzle that involves “day chickens” and “night chickens”. The day chickens are marked by a chicken outline while the night chickens are fully colored in.

To solve this puzzle, players need to turn on the lamps to illuminate day chickens and turn off lamps to keep the night chickens in darkness. Following are the locations of the chickens:

  • The first night chicken is in the bedroom itself, so players should simply turn off the lamp and leave the room.
  • The second chicken can be found by taking the immediate left after exiting Sara’s bedroom. This one is a day chicken so players will need to turn on the lamp for this one.
  • The third is a night chicken that can be found on the right side of the staircase. The lights should already be off by default, so players can leave the things as is.
  • For the fourth chicken, players must head to the other side of the museum and search for a hole in the wall. This hole will connect to an area with bookshelves and a day chicken marked on the wall. The lights will need to be turned on for this one.

Turning on the lamp for this room will also open a metal gate. Players must follow through the gate, take a right, and go up the newly unlocked stairs. Behind the curtain, a metallic chicken statue can be found. Interacting with it will unlock the Chicken of Justice achievement.

After finding the statue, players can talk to Sara about the metallic chicken statue to unlock some light-hearted dialogues. However, this isn’t needed for the achievement, like most choices in Nobody Wants to Die.

Nobody Wants to Die is a short but beautifully crafted story-driven game that can be enjoyed on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
