How to solve coin puzzle in Wood Side Apartments in Silent Hill 2

Konami and Bloober Team's latest project Silent Hill 2 is now available to play for those who own the Digital Deluxe copy of the game. However, For Standard Edition owners, the game will be available on October 08, 2024. If you are one of those who have already started Silent Hill 2 and are stuck on the famous coin puzzle found in Wood Side Apartments in the game, given below is a guide to help you out.

A similar puzzle was also a part of the original Silent Hill 2, which was released back in 2001. To solve the puzzle, you will need to find 3 coins if you are playing on normal difficulty. These three coins will come in handy when you try to unlock the cabinet found inside the apartment to proceed further in Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 coin puzzle guide

To find the first coin, you need to enter apartment number 206. To enter this apartment, however, you have to access apartment 208. Pushing the cabinet present in room 208 will let you access apartment 206. Here, you will find a safe. The code for this safe is: right 13, left 7, and right 11. Once you have successfully opened this safe, you will find your first coin.

The next coin is in the clogged trash chute on the third floor. To get your hands on the second coin, look around on the third floor to find a small hole through which you can crawl inside the trash chute. Using the canned juice lying nearby, clear the clog. This will drop the coin on the ground, which you then need to pick up from the first floor's courtyard.

The last coin will be present inside the pool, which will have Lying Figure monsters. You need to be quick to dodge all of them to get to the baby carriage present in the pool. If you are successful in retrieving the carriage, you will find the third coin inside

Now, return to the cabinet to finally solve the puzzle. Place the Man coin (the first one that we collected) underneath the moon, the Woman coin (collected from the trash chute) in the center, and the last one in the farthest right spot.

Flip the Man coin and move it to the right, followed by moving the Woman coin to the right. Now, flip all three coins. At last, you will need to move the third coin (the one that was in the pool) to the top slot to finally open the cabinet. The cabinet will contain the key to apartment number 201, where you will have to solve more such interesting puzzles.
