Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Bethesda's latest game, has recently made its way onto the PC and Xbox Series X and S platforms, with a PS5 port en route sometime in 2025. It puts you into the shoes of the world-famous archeologist as he traverses the world in search of incredible relics. This journey takes place in the Vatican, Egypt, the Himalayas, and even Thailand, which, in the game, has been termed Sukhothai.

Sukhothai is also the place where some gear puzzles await you, with one of the first being the Hidden Gate puzzle. It involves finding and placing some cogwheels in the correct manner to activate a mechanism. Below is a guide on completing this quest in the game.

Hidden Gate puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle guide

You will encounter the puzzle while in Sukhothai, during "The Blessed Pearl" mission. Notice a small opening that Indy can use to reach a separate area. Crouch and head into it; use the ledge to climb up to an elevated platform.

You will find a small cogwheel here and an option to use the whip to open a valve blocking the flow of water. Store the cogwheel in the inventory, and use the whip to open the valve.

Now, head back to the main area. You will notice many cogwheels of various sizes lying around. Pick up and store the smaller ones in the inventory for the time being, and then head toward the huge cogwheel in front of the lever. Interacting with the lever makes the large cogwheel move.

Notice some slots to place cogwheels on the left of the larger one, and also take note of a cogwheel on the bottom. Your goal is to arrange the cogwheels in a manner such that pulling the lever moves the crucial bottom cogwheel. Refer to the image above for the exact positions.

When all have been placed in the correct positions, activate the lever and notice the small statue portion descend into the ground.

Once done with the previous wheel, remove the smaller cogwheels, and store them in the inventory. Opposite the first cogwheel is another large one, and, this time, you must activate the mechanism to its right. Similar to the first cogwheel, refer to the image above for the exact placements. Activate the lever in front to make the mechanism move.

Once done, consider storing all the smaller cogwheels you find, in your inventory, as they can also come in handy while solving some other puzzles in the area. The quest will also be marked as completed after this is done. Head to the marker and activate the mechanism to proceed forth.
