Satisfactory allows you to split items in a stack for easier and faster inventory management. This means you can quickly select the desired number of items you need from a stack with just a few clicks. Here is how to split stacks:

  • Open your inventory by pressing the Tab key.
  • Use the mouse to hover over the item you want to split.
  • Press the right-click on your mouse to split the stack in half. If you want a specific quantity, you can hold the right-click to enable custom splitting, where you can choose the desired number using the provided slider or keyboard input.
  • Once split, you can move around the split stack and place it in storage or put it as input into machinery.

Do note that the game will always split the items in half by default and round up in case of an odd number. For example, splitting a stack of seven will put four items in your hand and leave the remaining three in inventory.

You can access the inventory by pressing the Tab key on your keyboard. This is where you will store your items, dismantled blueprints, and equip pieces of equipment. Inventory in Satisfactory has 18 slots by default, and they can be upgraded up to a maximum of 81 slots.

Each item in the game has a defined stack size. Therefore, items of the same types are grouped into a single slot and only take one inventory slot in the inventory.

If you happen to pick up more than the defined stack size, items will be put into a new slot for as long as there are remaining empty slots on your inventory. The stack size of resources can be 1, 50, 100, 200, or 500, depending upon the rarity and type of the resource.
