How to defeat Kadablich in Metaphor ReFantazio

Metaphor ReFantazio often poses challenging boss fights to players, some of which may require specific items, Archetype skills, or spells to proceed. Located within the game's Mausoleum Catacombs is the boss Kadablich, who is assisted in combat by three skeleton soldiers. Kadablich's skill attacks, though daunting at first, can be countered by using some Archetype-specific skills to make it easier to defeat him.

Getting to this battle also requires players to start the "A Haunted Heirloom" questline, which can be accepted by talking to a noble on Sunlumeo Street. This will direct the player toward the Catacombs, not too long after it was last visited during a previous dungeon fight.

You are advised to unlock Heismay as a party member and have him join your journey through the Catacombs. Additionally, having at least one Healer and one Mage Archetype will make the battle a bit easier to complete. You should also be on the lookout for the previously closed Mausoleum Gates, as some items and loot can be collected from there before meeting Kadablich.

Defeating Kadablich in Metaphor ReFantazio

Kadablich is a formidable opponent even on his own, and the difficulty is amplified by the three skeleton soldiers assisting him. It is best to take out the skeletons first, which can be achieved by using the Healer's Mahama synthesis to exploit the skeleton enemies' weakness to Light attacks.

Kadablich can conjure up many attacks, and a particularly annoying one is Curse Chant, which leaves all party members with a Hex. Additionally, his Mamudo attack can also deal Dark damage to all party members. You should remember to eliminate the effects of Hex from all party members at the earliest, as prolonged exposure can negatively affect them.

Exploit Kadablich's weakness to Light magic attacks, and use spells such as Mahama to great effect. Repeating these moves will result in him being defeated, and you will be rewarded for your efforts. Alongside the Reeve and MAG rewards, you will also receive a Black Jewel Necklace, which will conclude the aforementioned "A Haunted Heirloom" quest line.
