There are numerous special spots linked to questlines or buried within obscure areas that players must unlock in order to gain a selection of the best goods and weaponry in the game. What is Volcano Manor in Elden Ring?
Volcano Manor is a Legacy Dungeon in Elden Ring that is home to Lord Rykard. It is immensely intertwined, and both the journey to it and exploring its interiors can be exceedingly difficult. However, while the entire zone is optional, it includes some wonderful exploration, boss battles, goodies, and individuals to interact with. Volcano Manor is a little out of the way and can easily be overlooked.
How to get to Volcano Manor in Elden Ring?
Unfortunately, getting to Volcano Manor is a bit odd, with a number of branching roads all leading to the manor's doors. The path players follow and what they must accomplish after they arrive at the Volcano Manor are entirely up to them, however there are three main ways to get there.
The first is to climb Mt. Gelmir and face the numerous challenges, foes, and bosses that await you. Accepting an offer from Rya after satisfying her request is another way to get to the manor. The third, somewhat unusual method is to die to a secret miniboss in Raya Lucaria and then teleport to the caves beneath the manor.
Method 1: Completing the Rya side-quest
The quickest method to go to Volcano Manor, especially if you're still working on unlocking the Mt. Gelmir region, is to receive an invitation from Rya. This NPC can be found in Liurnia of the Lakes, at the stone building, northwest of the Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace or straight east of the Scenic Isle.
When you speak with Rya, she will ask you to collect a necklace.
Head northwest to reach Grace's Boilprawn Shack Site.
When you speak with the NPC outside, he will reference the necklace.
Either buy the rune necklace or kill him to get it.
Return to Rya and pass over the necklace to receive the Volcano Manor Invitation.
Method 2: Dying to the Abductor Virgin in Raya Lucaria Academy
The ultimate way to approach the manor is to be killed by the Abductor Virgin at the bottom of Raya Lucaria's waterwheel. Only the "trap" attack will successfully transfer the player to a cavern area on Mt. Gelmir. There, gamers must fight and defeat two Abductor Virgins guarding the exit in order to leave the cave and enter Hermit Village. This is the most difficult of the three paths, but it compensates players with the Inquisitor's Girandole, a one-of-a-kind weapon.
Method 3: Ride/Walk to Volcano Manor
The manual ascent of Mt. Gelmir is the most difficult and time-consuming of the three routes to Volcano Manor. If you haven't already reached this mountainous terrain, the closest starting spot for gamers is the Altus Plateau, so you'll need to start there. The Bridge of Iniquity, located south of The Shaded Castle, spans a ravine. Cross this bridge westward, overcoming a few minor opponents, to reach Grace's First Mt. Gelmir Campsite.
A few Abductor Virgins will be patrolling the area beyond, so either kill or sneak past them. On the left, there will be a ladder leading up the cliff and higher up the mountain. There will be three more ladders to climb, as well as more adversaries to battle or run past, until you reach a merchant on the cliffside. Northwest of that is a lower portion with multiple cheval-de-frise that you should descend down and stay tight on your left. From there, you'll come across a wooden bridge that spans a massive chasm, with the Volcano Manor visible to the south.
Rest in the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace, at the end of the bridge, because ahead lies the Spirit Spring with Torrent, which will force a boss battle. The fight is optional, but defeating it grants you an unusual weapon and other goodies. Once you've defeated it, rush to the west side of the crater onto the protruding rock. Following the trees down while avoiding the baddies, walk down the slope and towards the massive castle.
