Mario Kart Wii is a racing game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console. It is the sixth installment in the Mario Kart series and was released worldwide in April 2008. The game features many of the familiar characters from the Mario universe, such as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong, and pits them against each other in high-speed go-kart races.

In the game, players can choose from a variety of characters, karts, and motorcycles, each with their own unique attributes and statistics. Players can race on a variety of tracks, ranging from traditional Mario-themed circuits to more abstract and fantastical locations.

The game features a variety of gameplay modes, including Grand Prix, Time Trials, VS, and Battle modes. In Grand Prix mode, players compete in a series of races on different tracks in order to earn points and advance through the ranks. Time Trials mode allows players to race against the clock to set the best time on a specific track. VS mode lets players race against each other in a customizable race, and Battle mode lets players compete in a variety of different battle-style minigames.

Mario Kart Wii also features online multiplayer, which allows players to race against others from around the world. Additionally, the game features motion controls using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, which allow players to steer their karts by tilting the controller.
