Without a second thought, Elden Ring is one of the best RPGs ever. This masterpiece of a game won the hearts of millions of players. The combat and mechanics of the game are everything that RPG players have always wanted but never saw in any game. However, this comes with a disadvantage: few mechanics can be pretty complicated for new players.

What are Incantations in the Elden Ring?

Elden Ring's magic system, for example, permits players to perform strong sorceries and incantations as long as they have the requisite attributes. Incantations are the more flexible of the two magic kinds since many offensive and supporting incantations may be employed to strike, heal, or buff before or during combat. Incantation spells are frequently found when wandering or from vendors, although many players need to learn how to use them.

How do Incantations work?

While Elden Ring sorceries nearly always need your character's Intelligence, all of the game's incantations require Faith, with some requiring Arcane or Intelligence. It's worth noting that all classes and all players may get and utilize incantations during a game as long as you modify your numbers to satisfy the minimum stat requirements for each spell.

How to use Incantations?

  1. You need to visit your inventory to accept the equipment area. You can equip the Sacred Seal either in your main hand or off-hand.

  1. You can cycle through equipment with your D-pad or the scroll button on the mouse.

  2. With the Seal equipped, you can cast any equipped incantation by pressing the left bumper (offhand) or right bumper (main hand).

  3. Some incantations can be charged by holding down the bumper before releasing it. Charging increases the damage and area of effect.

Which classes can use Incantations from the start?

The Prophet and Confessor are the only classes that start with Incantations from the beginning. These classes already have the stats which are required to use incantations. However, if you're playing as someone other than these two classes, like the Wretch or a Vagabond, you need to buy an item to use incantations, a Sacred Seal.

How to get the Sacred Seal?

  1. You need to visit the Stormveil Castle, situated at the northwest corner of Limgrave, with the help of a horse or torrent.

  2. Do battle with Margit. The result of the battle doesn't matter, as you'll get access to Sacred Seals either way. Even if you lose, you'll still get access.

  3. After this, you'll need to talk to Melina, which will unlock a new section of vendors on your map. This is called the Roundtable Hold.

  4. The vendor for incantations is in a safe zone hub area in Roundtable Hold.

  5. When you spawn in, head down the left corridor and past the bookshelves. You'll find a small room with two mummified witches who can sell you a basic Finger Seal for 800 runes.
