How to get started with trade in Manor Lords
To begin trade in Manor Lords, two buildings are recommended for construction. They are the Trading Post and the Livestock Trading Post. While the Trading Post deals exclusively in commodities and resources, the Livestock Trading Post deals with the trade of animals regarded as livestock.
Trading offers players the possibility to obtain resources without having to claim additional land in Manor Lords. To begin trading in the game, you can click on a trading building and select the Trade tab where you can find a list of goods, including resources and livestock, which can be imported or exported.
You are given a few options regarding trading which are as follows:
- Export: You can only sell these resources
- Import: You can only buy these resources
- Full trade: You can both buy and sell these resources
- No trade: These resources won't be bought to sold
Before finalizing the exchange, you can select the surplus quantity for trade using the indicated plus and minus signs. The Present Surplus tells you just how much of a particular resource is available for you to trade while the Desired Surplus is the amount of resources you intend to keep on hand at all times. You can adjust the latter as per your needs.
It is recommended to sell items that can be mass-produced without requiring too many resources. These are considered Minor Trades. They are generally inconsistent as without a trading merchant, the trading only happens at random moments whenever a merchant stops by your settlement.
Items that are considered Major Trades are the exact opposite. They consist of products that require a lot of processing to be manufactured. A Major Trade in Manor Lords, however, requires the setup of a Trade Route and these can be found and bought from the Trading Menu. This sets up the monthly visit of a trading merchant who visits your settlement to buy and sell products.
That's all you need to know about trading in Manor Lords. Players who are visiting their settlement and traveling the trading routes from a third-person perspective will have a good time appreciating the visually striking details in Manor Lords.
