To equip Bolts, open the Radial Menu (press Tab on PC or LB on a controller) and select them from the bottom of it. Bolts are held in your right hand, meaning you cannot equip a weapon while using one. To throw the Bolt, use Left-Click for an overhand throw or Right-Click for an underhand toss. You can also adjust the throw distance by holding Right-Click before releasing.

Bolts are crucial for interacting with anomalies like gravitational anomalies, acid anomalies, electrical fields, and vortexes. Many anomalies are hard to see with the naked eye, but your detector emits a beeping noise to warn you of their presence. To reveal an anomaly's location, toss a Bolt into the suspected area. If you aim it right, you will be able to locate the nearby anomaly or even collect the artifact from it.

Bolts can also temporarily disable certain anomalies. For example, bubble anomalies burst for a few seconds when struck, giving you a brief window to pass safely. To escape an anomalous field, throw a Bolt at its edge, wait for the anomaly to burst, and move quickly through the gap before it reappears.

Bolts are very effective, especially if you want to take on a stealthy approach through the Zone.
