HoYoverse leak teases upcoming game by Genshin Impact developers

Recent leaks suggest HoYoverse will launch a brand new game, "Petit Planet." While previous rumors suggested that this game would be called Astaweave Haven, the project seemingly has adopted a new name. This title is supposedly going to be an Animal Crossing/Stardew Valley-style role-playing/farming simulator, which will mark HoYoverse's foray into this genre.

New game from HoYoverse titled "Petit Planet" in the works, according to leaks

A prominent leaker in the community, hxg_diluc, took to X and claimed that HoYoverse will be releasing a new game titled "Petit Planet."

According to the above image, Cognosphere PTE. Ltd (aka HoYoverse) — global publishing subsidiary for miHoYo — filed a trademark for the game with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on October 31, 2024. The trademark is still pending approval and should go live soon.

Earlier in 2024 a similar trademark for a game titled Astaweave Haven had been registered to Cognosphere PTE. Ltd, leading fans to conclude that "Petit Planet" might be a new, separate game. However, leaker hxg_diluc has suggested that Astaweave Haven had been renamed and this was same project/title.

The trademark for "Petit Planet" has already been registered in China under the name "星布谷地," with the game having cleared regulatory testing. It has been approved for release on mobile and PC, but a tentative release date has yet to be finalized.

Not much else is available regarding this upcoming offering from HoYoverse as of yet, except that it will be a role-playing/farming simulation fashioned after popular games of the genre such as Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing.

Leaked gameplay footage of the game, supposedly taken during its early testing surfaced earlier this year (2024). It seemingly displayed the title's gameplay style and mechanics. As expected of a farming simulation, it involves the characters chopping down trees, gardening, taking care of crops, and fishing. Readers should note that the final gameplay might not resemble the leaked version.

It remains unclear whether "Petit Planet" will be a gacha game like other HoYoverse titles, or adopt a separate kind of monetization model. Such doubts will be cleared once HoYoverse makes any announcement regarding its rumored offering.
