CS2 can be played in multiple resolution settings, catering to everyone's preferences. Some like it in 1920×1080, while others prefer 1280×960. Notably, aspect ratios change the way Counter-Strike 2 appears visually. Recently, one player, u/Zasibys, took to Reddit to share their experience with changing these settings. They also delved into their favorite resolution setting.
u/Zasibys took to the r/cs2 subreddit to share a clip from one of their previous matches. The user explained how they chose the 16:9 resolution setting out of boredom and may have struck gold:
"Playing late at night was having rough start, feeling not right, so I changed to 16:9 as I was tired. I wanted to see more surroundings than with 4:3 res."

Redditor u/ExcitingShine1854 also highlighted their preference for the 16:9 resolution setting, as it allows them to see better and have a wider cone of vision:
"16:9 is so good! So many times I can see enemies sitting in corners that my 4:3 teammates never could dream of seeing. Never understood why people played on 4:3"
Another CS2 player, u/JayWelsh, felt that the only upper hand the 4:3 resolution could have over the 16:9 setting is better rendering since the system processes fewer pixels. However, they still hailed the latter resolution as the perfect one for them.
Meanwhile, u/Kool41DMAN seemed to believe that u/Zasibys' success had more to do with a mental shift rather than the resolution itself:
"Hopefully it stays that way for you...but a lot of times it's just a mental thing. You make a change (sens/xhair size/resolution etc.), have a few good games in a row then it just goes back to how you usually perform."
Redditor u/bongsound420 seemed convinced that the 16:9 resolution was superior to the 4:3, and there was no reason not to use the former.
However, according to u/g3nericjasonp, u/Zasibys was simply experiencing a placebo effect.
Esports World Cup 2024 CS2 tournament approaches
The Esports World Cup may just be the grandest platform for CS2 organizations to showcase their rosters. Big teams such as G2 Esports, Team Liquid, and Heroic are all set to compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool. Most of them have already made changes to their rosters.
There were many such CS2 roster changes in June and July. It looks like all major organizations are firing up their efforts to win during the Esports World Cup.
The Counter-Strike 2 tournament will officially begin on July 17, 2024, and end on July 21, 2024.
