Imaginarium Theater Supporting Cast guide for using characters owned by friends in battle

Introduced in version 4.7 of Genshin Impact, Imaginarium Theater is a new permanent combat gameplay that is both fun and challenging. While new players can most certainly play Imaginarium Theater, certain parts of it are aimed toward endgame players. All players need to have a total of 18 well-built characters to fully clear this challenge.

Thankfully, Imaginarium Theater has a 'Supporting Cast' feature to help newer players or just casual players in general who might not have as many fully-built characters.

What is the Supporting Cast in Imaginarium Theater?

The Supporting Cast is essentially a feature that lets players borrow characters from their friends to use in Imaginarium Theater. Similar to the Support system of Honkai Star Rail, players can choose to use in battle one of the characters owned by their friends.

After clearing a full run of Imaginarium Theater with the selected Supporting Cast character, you can choose a different one from another friend for your next run. Keep in mind that once you select another character from a different friend, you cannot go back to using the former character for that entire season of Imaginarium Theater.

Similarly, you can select up to seven characters owned by you that your friends can use for their battles in Imaginarium Theater.

Follow these steps to invite a character owned by your friends to join your party in Imaginarium Theater:

1. Interact with the book in the mysterious room and start playing Imaginarium Theater
2. Click on 'Performance Prep' to begin preparing for battle
3. Choose the difficulty level you want to play on and enter Party Setup
4. Click on 'Invite Supporting Cast' and select the character you want to invite to join your team. You can click on 'Details' to check the character's weapons and equipped artifacts before proceeding.
5. Click on 'Confirm' and proceed to the challenge.

You can select up to a total of seven characters that you can display on your Supporting Cast roster. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Interact with the book in the mysterious room to enter the Imaginarium Theater
2. Click on 'Supporting Cast' to start adding the characters
3. Select 7 characters from among the characters you own. Try and choose the characters according to the season's requirements
4. Click on 'Confirm Lineup' and exit.
