Indiana Jones and the Great Circle walkthrough: How to complete A Study in Fear fieldwork

A Study in Fear is a fieldwork in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. You can begin this quest after speaking with Pailin in her hut. Pailin is alarmed by the sounds of explosions as soldiers desecrate her lands and steal cultural artifacts. Indy will then be asked to investigate the issue and help her defeat the Nazis.

How to start and complete the Study in Fear is a fieldwork in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Pailin’s hut is located in the starting village in Sukothai. Speak with her to initiate the quest. She will then inform Indy of the soldiers’ actions and mark the Explosion Site on the map near Wat Si Sawai.

The Explosion Site is in the Wat Si Sawai area, near the Khmer Warriors Temple in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Upon reaching the location, explore it to uncover what is going on. Here, Indy will also meet Annika, a former student, and together they will enter the Khmer Vault to investigate further.

Upon entering the Khmer Vault:

• Rotate the lever to trigger a trap to get inside the vault.
• Once there, Annika will hand Indy the Circle Key.
• Burn the hay on the right side using your Lighter.
• Then, activate the water source by rotating the lever again.
• Lastly, place the Circle Key on the pedestal and wait for all symbols to align before removing it.

This will open the door. Proceed through it and then jump around the cogwheels to reach the next puzzle.

Solving the second pedestal puzzle

1. Grab the Cross & Circle Key nearby.
2. Then, use the whip on the handle to activate the water flow.
3. Place the Cross & Circle Key and align the Diamond and Cross symbols.
4. Finally, swap to the Circle Key and align all symbols.

Once you are done with this puzzle, follow the path ahead. Soon, you'll find yourself trapped inside a room with the walls closing in. However, don’t worry, as it's a faulty trap and will stop right before it crushes you. Upon escaping the room, continue forward until you find the Sarcophagus.

After reaching the Sarcophagus:

1. Pull the levers on both sides of the platform to open it. It will be empty. However, this will activate a puzzle.
2. Escape the trap by grabbing a wooden rod and smashing the weak wall, flooding the area.
3. Use the rebreather device to dive and clear obstacles.
4. Climb up with Annika’s help.

Once outside, Indy and Annika will need to rotate levers simultaneously to open the door. Wait for Indy to say “GO!” before turning your lever to do it perfectly. Then continue until you reach the Demon’s Tomb puzzle.

Climb the stairs and pull the handle on the right to pump water through the pedestals. Use the whip to reach the bird’s nest and retrieve the Cross & Diamond Key.

First Pedestal:

• Use the Cross & Circle Key and align all symbols before removing it.

Second Pedestal:

• Place the Cross & Circle Key and align the Diamond and Line symbols.
• Swap to the Circle Key and align all symbols.

Third Pedestal:

• Use the Cross & Diamond Key to align the Diamond and Line symbols.
• Swap to the Cross & Circle Key to align the Diamond and Line symbols with the Cross.
• Finish with the Circle Key, aligning all symbols.

Once all pedestals are solved, pull the lever in the center to obtain the Idol of Yaksha. However, this is where Annika betrays Indy by pushing him into a trap. Swim to safety and follow the screams to find Annika’s severed hand holding the Idol.

You can then exit the Khmer Vault by rotating the lever. Do note that the soldiers at the entrance can be evaded if you're wearing the Royal Army outfit. Finally, deliver the Idol of Yaksha to Pailin in the village to complete the quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
