Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is Bethesda's latest take on the adventures of the world-famous archeologist and explorer, Indiana Jones. Across the game's story, Indy travels across Egypt, the Vatican, Thailand, and more. It is the latter, which is termed "Sukhothai," where the mystery Counting Letters can be found — a rather apt name, given the steps required to solve it.
Provided below is a guide on completing this quest in the game, and the steps which you can use to decipher the code. Should you simply wish to know the code itself, the same can be found highlighted at the end of the article.

Completing the Counting Letters mystery in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Head into the Nazi camp in Wat Mahathat in Sukhothai. Beware that many soldiers in the area will immediately become hostile upon seeing Indy. Consider a stealthy approach and being extra cautious while getting around to avoid attracting unnecessary attention.
Head into the central tent, where you will find Bartolomeo's Challenge scribbled on a note. He mentions the term "JHHS" as the only clue to proceed forth. Notice on the table, a code reader, and four code wheels beside it.
Unlike other times, such as the Kummetz Cipher when you may have encountered these code wheels, here, the letters "J" and "S" are on the same wheel as opposed to being on different ones.
Though it may seem rather convenient that there are two wheels with the letter H, it is not exactly crystal clear here either. Like the other puzzle mentioned above, you need to make a note of the letters below the term mentioned in the first note. Put the wheels with the letter H in the second and third slots, and notice that one has an "I" below it, while the other has an "E" below it.
Next, put the wheel with the "J" in the first slot, which has the letter "B" below it. Remove it, put it in the fourth slot, and turn it till you get "S", which has the letter "R" below it. Depending on which order you put the "H" wheels in, the combination will read either as "BIER" or "BEIR".
Besides the machine, there are two code tables. Consult the one on the left, and you will notice that "BIER" is the only code mentioned, which correlates to the combination of numbers, 4134. Enter it into the chest to unlock it, and, thus, end the mystery.
