Solving the Elephant in the Room mystery in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
This quest can be found just north of Voss' camp on the map. There may be hostiles, whom you can avoid alerting if you have the appropriate disguise on: else, you can simply defeat them in combat. When in the area, head through the small doorway to reach an area with a large Buddhist statue.
Whip out Indy's camera and take a picture of it to start the quest. Look underneath it to find three openings that house a pressure plate, of which two are blocked. To the left of the room, find the first elephant statue by burning the wooden planks tied together with cloth and place it on the right-most pressure plate.
This will unlock a hidden compartment to the right of the large statue, which also has a pressure plate. Look to the right side of the room to find the second elephant statue. Place it on the newly revealed pressure plate. This will open the blocked left pressure plate. Place the first statue on the left plate, which is where it will remain from here on. Doing so will also unlock a path to the left of the large statue.
Head inside and scour the room to find a rebel journal and a Sukhothai Relics book at the start and end of the passageway, respectively. At the end of the passage near the table where you found the Relics book, look up and use the whip to grapple to higher ground.
The third and final statue is situated almost directly above the location of the Relics book. Claim the third statue from this elevated platform, and leave the area with it. Before doing so, take note of the pressure plate near the entrance to this area.
It is now time to arrange the statues in the right order. Follow the steps below carefully to avoid getting stuck in the area:
- Place the third elephant on the right-most pressure plate underneath the Buddhist statue. This keeps the compartment to the right of the statue unlocked.
- Place the second elephant on the pressure plate inside the passageway accessed via the door to the left. This will open the previously blocked central pressure plate underneath the Buddhist statue.
- Move the third statue from the right to the center plate under the Buddhist statue.
- Move the second statue from the passageway to the right plate under the statue.
Once done, notice a passageway opening on the right side of the room.
Head inside it to find the skeleton of a large elephant and make sure to capture it with the camera to receive some adventure points. With this, the quest concludes.
