One such mystery is termed "Timely Arrival" and can be solved while in Sukhothai.

Solving the Timely Arrival mystery in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Head deeper into Sukhothai, and reach Wat Chana Songkhram Island. The area is restricted and heavily guarded, so make sure to crouch and be as stealthy as possible in order to avoid being spotted by some hostiles and unintentionally creating a commotion. Head to the tent next to the watch tower, and look deeper inside. Consider crouching to avoid making much noise.

Look on the table to find a mystery note dated Saturday, November 6, 1937, and a mention of the term "GIADA". Besides it will be a code lookup table, which is the key to deciphering the code to unlock the nearby chest. It requires the input of the correct combination in order to be unlocked. As a bonus, open the table's drawer to get some extra cash.

Cross-referencing with the code table, the key here is to look at the numbers corresponding to each of the letters "G", "I", "A", "D", and "A" in the sixth column. The reasoning for the sixth column can be that Saturday is the sixth day of the week (mentioned as Sabato at the top of the code table).
