Is Black Myth Wukong Deluxe Edition Upgrade worth buying?

Black Myth Wukong is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2024 and for obvious reasons. Not only does it promise a breathtaking action RPG experience, but it also features some of the most cutting-edge visuals for a modern release. Over the last couple of years, quite a lot of Unreal Engine 5 games have been released for current-gen systems.

That said, barely anything matches the sheer graphical fidelity of Balck Myth Wukong. Much like last year's Lies of P, which seemingly came out of nowhere and left a lasting impression on players, Black Myth Wukong has the potential to be another surprise hit for souls-like fans.

With the game's upcoming release, pre-orders for Black Myth Wukong are already live on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). However, alongside the two different editions of the game, there's also the "Deluxe Edition Upgrade" that's available for purchase.

Should you buy Black Myth Wukong Deluxe Edition Upgrade?

Black Myth Wukong's Deluxe Edition is quite similar to what most Premium or Deluxe versions offer, i.e., access to a few exclusive in-game cosmetics, a weapon pack, and the game's official soundtrack. For the extra $10, it's totally worth getting the Deluxe Edition Upgrade, especially if you don't want to miss out on the exclusive cosmetics.

Unfortunately, there's no "early access" offer for the Deluxe Edition pre-order of Black Myth Wukong, something that was present with Lies of P's Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition and the Deluxe Editions have the same release date - August 20, 2024.

That said if you're not all that worried about missing out on the exclusive cosmetics, the Folk Opera armor set and Bronzecloud Staff, you should be perfectly fine with the Standard Edition. Given there are no early access incentives or story DLCs tied to the Deluxe Edition, the Standard Edition is a good choice if you want to save those $10.

Additionally, do note that the Deluxe Edition Upgrade is only meant for players who bought the Standard Edition. The upgrade bundle is an add-on for the Standard Edition of the game. If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, you don't have to buy the upgrade pack separately as it's already included in the bundle you purchased.
