Black Myth Wukong is an upcoming action role-playing game from Game Science. The title is inspired by the famous Chinese novel, "Journey to the West," and is set to be released on several platforms. Sadly, it will not be available on Nintendo Switch. With the pre-release media files currently out, the community has classified the game as akin to soulslike games.
In this single-player third-person perspective game, players play as the Destined One, a character modeled on one of the character's from the novel, Sun Wukong.
Combat in this Game Science title consists of stances that allow for multiple striking patterns of light and heavy assaults. Ghost of Tsushima, a prominent RPG game, also featured a stance system that directed the flow of combat well.
Due to its pre-release popularity, gamers were wondering if they could play Black Myth Wukong on their handheld device, which doesn't seem possible at the moment. In this article, we will have a look at the other platforms where Black Myth Wukong will be available and look at what this title promises to offer.

Even though you cannot play Black Myth Wukong on Nintendo Switch, it might be released for the next generation Switch 2, which could potentially be able to handle the game that was created using Unreal Engine 5.

More about Black Myth Wukong
As stated above, the game is based on the 16th-century Chinese novel, Journey to the West, which tells the story of a monkey who travels to the "western regions" in search of precious manuscripts. While we don't know how loyal Black Myth Wukong will be to the novel, it certainly will have some loose tie-ins to the historical events of the targeted period.
Elements like hacking, slashing, parrying, and dying, are all present and Game Science has managed to make the game look epic while adding all of it. The game is based on the mechanics of Souls games however; the creators do not consider it soulslike. It has been categorized as a "boss rush" game, which means that the game's story progression depends mainly on defeating major bosses.
To follow in the footsteps of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be a big task for any game from this genre. Despite that, creators at Game Science have claimed that the uniqueness of the boss battles would be something that will mesmerize players.
This has made fans of the soulslike community highly anticipate the new Wukong title. However, only on August 20, 2024, will one be able to know how valid Game Science's claims are.
