Chained Together is the latest sensation on Steam, with players jumping into the co-op title to see if they can "reach the summit." Launching on June 19, 2024, the game currently has an all-time peak of 94,480 Steam concurrent players (at the time of writing). The game is not available on consoles currently, with only PC users getting to enjoy it.

With the title's popularity steadily rising, many gamers would likely wonder whether the title is available on other platforms, such as the Xbox console or the PS5. Sadly, that isn't the case.

Chained Together is available exclusively on PC via Steam for now

As mentioned above, Chained Together is currently available only on PC (via Steam). Anegar Games, the developer behind the project, hasn't provided any concrete confirmation regarding the game being released on console yet. The official Discord server states the following on the matter:

"As of now, we are focusing on the Steam version. Other platforms are under consideration for future releases."

A successful launch and a clamor from the community might just convince them to make the jump, provided they have the resources to do so. For now, players can only enjoy the game on PC. That said, we will keep you updated if the status changes in the future.

The devs describe the game as a mission "to escape hell by climbing as high as possible." Players start in "the depths of hell," where they will find themselves changing to their co-op participants (up to four in local multiplayer). Coordination is required for each jump to land perfectly, as players reach higher and higher.

The game promises a variety of worlds with unique scenarios, with the chain that binds players having realistic physics simulations and adding to the challenge. You can also choose to go at it alone in a solo climb.

Chained Together also poses several difficulty modes:

  • Beginner: An option in the pause menu allows you to teleport back to the highest point you reached before a significant fall.
  • Normal: No specific help. You fall in case of failure and must start over.
  • Lava: You must climb quickly before the lava engulfs you.

Only Normal and Lava will support the leaderboard keeping track of completion times and Steam achievements.
