PlayStation's upcoming 5v5 first-person shooter game Concord is set to arrive globally in August 2024. Many fans are looking forward to playing it. While they may assume this is another free-to-play offering, that's not the case. Concord is going to be a paid game.
Developed by Firewalk Studio under PlayStation, the title recently witnessed an early access beta phase, and its open beta will start on July 18, 2024.
Concord will cost $40 on PS5 and PC
The 5v5 Multiplayer hero shooter will be available for a price of $40 on the PlayStation 5 as well as PC. Its early access beta was available only to those who had pre-ordered the title by spending that amount.

When this title was initially revealed a few months ago during the State of Play event, many players believed it would be an F2P project. However, that's not the case.
As of now, one cannot really predict how Concord being a paid first-person shooter will benefit PlayStation. If it enjoys a warm reception with positive reviews, the game may end up seeing a large number of purchases despite costing $40.
It will be interesting to see how well this title does after its launch.

The early access beta phase for PlayStation's ambitious title didn't manage to attract a lot of players on PC. As such, it seems like not many people actually pre-ordered the game on Steam.
Hopefully, the open beta starting on July 18, 2024, will see more gamers. This testing phase won't require you to pre-order the game.
It will be interesting to see if free access to this online experience will compel more players to try it.
