Valve has taken a huge technical leap in announcing Counter-Strike 2 (CS 2). The developers have confirmed the game to be an upgrade over the existing CS:GO, a popular name in the gaming world, and will arrive on PC this summer. However, recent news of a leak has furthered the excitement of the community.

Despite no official statement from Valve, a recent tweet lightened the speculation that Counter-Strike 2 will also be available for mobile gamers. Aquarius, a renowned leaker, recently tweeted two snaps of the code in Source 2.

Aquarius recently posted a snap comprising Source 2 codes. One of these shows a line of code that mentions of ‘other platforms, etc’ and ‘mobile’. The other shows a list of console commands that will help you increase the FPS on your smartphone. Aquarius wrote that since Source 2 supports Android and iOS, CS 2 might just make it to mobile.

However, another fellow player and Twitter user said that the console commands and strings might simply be leftovers from other games. However, he added that these exist in some games that were developed, keeping Android and iOS in mind.

What does Valve say about Counter-Strike 2?

Valve has not announced its plans to port CS2 to mobile. The official website so far says that Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to CS:GO and players can only play it on PC through Steam. Source 2 also supports Android and iOS. This way, the developers can easily release the game on their mobile port if they want.

Valve has a history of launching games on other gaming platforms. When CS:GO launched for the first time, it was also playable on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the best consoles in 2012. However, even if the developers finally launch CS 2 on mobile, players can expect it to look different from the PC version due to the hardware differences.

Even though the rumors have hyped up the community, the codes are nothing but speculation. As there is not much evidence that can support or oppose the claims, players may have to wait for an official confirmation.
