While Lords of the Fallen is primarily a single-player game, there is a fair bit of multiplayer content in the souls-like in the form of co-op and PvP. This is why many in the community are curious to know if they will be able to play with their friends and other players who are on a different platform.
Crossplay compatibility is something that is becoming more and more popular in AAA games, and souls-borne fans would love it if they could co-op the title with a friend who is not on the same platform.
Hence, it’s not all that surprising why there are many players who are wondering if Lords of the Fallen comes with crossplay as well as cross-progression compatibility.

Does Lords of the Fallen have crossplay?
Lords of the Fallen has crossplay, though it’s a bit limited. Those who are on PC will be able to play the game with those who are on Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5, however, Xbox and PS users will not be able to play the game with each other. This comes as quite unfortunate news for console users who have been able to play with each other in some of the more recent AAA titles.
Does Lords of the Fallen have cross-progression?
While crossplay is present (in a limited capacity) there is no cross-progression feature to look forward to in the game. David Romanowski, who was the lead network multiplayer programmer behind the game had once mentioned that in order to enable cross-save and cross-progression in the game players would be required to create Hexworks Accounts.
This will require the developers to take additional steps for the title, because they dropped the idea of cross-save and cross-progression altogether.
Additionally, during co-op sessions players will be able to collect items dropped by the enemies, however, they will not be able to get their hands on world loot, as well as objects inside chests. Loots that are hidden inside world environments will also be unavailable to pick up.
It’s also important to keep in mind that players will only be able to play the content that the host has unlocked during a co-op session. Therefore, story progression is not something that they will be able to take part in during multiplayer.
