Whether Diablo 4 is coming to game pass is a question many fans of the ARPG genre have harbored. On release, a big $70 price tag was slapped on the game - sticking to Blizzard’s general pricing trends over the last decade. While it was received relatively well on launch, many of the game’s deep-seated systemic issues left fans wondering whether it was worth the $70 barrier of entry.
With the initially positive fan sentiments on the decline, Diablo 4 tried to rejuvenate the player base by bringing the game to Steam with Season of Blood, its second live-service seasonal update. The pricing, however, remained intact - barring limited-time Steam discounts.
However, for those of you who wanted to give Diablo 4 one playthrough without paying that much, Blizzard brings good tidings.

Diablo 4 will be available on Game Pass soon
Those looking to try out Diablo 4 in Microsoft's subscription model will finally be able to do so.
This possibility has materialized after a long wait, as the game did not get a day-one Game Pass launch. On release, the game was only purchasable as retail copies on consoles, and via Battle.net on PC.
Rod Ferguson, the General Manager for the Diablo brand, went as far as to say that they had ‘no plans for a Game Pass launch’ in a tweet shortly before the Diablo 4 Beta Early Access launch in March 2023.
Roughly a year after this tweet, however, the decision has been overturned. Diablo 4 will be available on Game Pass starting March 28th, 2024. Instead of having to sit through the horrors of the Battle.net UI, PC players can instead enjoy the game for $16.99 through the Game Pass program.
Will Diablo 4 be available on Game Pass core?
Unfortunately no, you cannot play Diablo 4 on the Game Pass core program.
When it was first announced for Game Pass, there were some doubts among players regarding its availability to the entirety of Game Pass’ subscriber base. However, things have since been officially clarified.
Diablo 4 will not be available on the Game Pass core membership, the cheapest subscription option introduced last year. It will be limited to Game Pass Ultimate members on both PC and Xbox.
That being said, some PC players will get the golden chance to try out Diablo 4 for a single Dollar. First-time subscribers on PC can try out the Game Pass Ultimate catalog in a 14-day trial offer for $1.
Fans have long been concerned about the repetitive endgame grind and lack of creative build options, but Diablo 4 is a very polished experience for one 40-hour campaign playthrough.
Although this is a huge step down from the $70 vanguard of a price tag, it does not come as a surprise given how Microsoft acquired the reins of Blizzard last October.
