11 Bit Studios will be releasing Frostpunk 2 on September 20, 2024, after achieving immense success with Frostpunk which was released back in 2018. The six-year-old survival game has received massive amounts of appreciation from gamers and even won a BAFTA nomination. While the original Frostpunk was available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, sadly, Frostpunk 2 will not be released for older consoles. PS4 and Xbox One owners will have to look for an upgrade if they wish to play the upcoming title.
That said, this article will provide details about the platforms on which this game will be released, its multiplayer availability, expected launch editions, and more.

Unfortunately, like Frostpunk, the sequel also doesn't support multiplayer or a co-op mode. You'll have to experience surviving in the post-apocalyptic city on your own.
Editions available for Frostpunk 2
The game will have two editions available- Standard and Deluxe. As you can already guess, the Standard edition will simply come with the base game. What else do we know from the trailers?
The game was originally supposed to be released back in July 2024. However, after its beta release, the developers found several areas that needed to be fixed. We have witnessed multiple trailers of the upcoming survival game, dropping sneak peeks of its world.
The first trailer of the game, which came out back in August 2021, was heavily CGI-dominated, announcing that the game is in development. 11 Bit Studios released another trailer, two years later, in June 2023. This one, titled "The City Must Not Fall", revealed a few more details about the city and its affairs since the events of the last game. The trailer also hinted that it is not just about survival this time, but also many more complexities that the citizens are going to face in the game.
The "Official Gameplay Trailer" for the game came a few months back, in January 2024. The trailer drops some hints about what to expect from the game in terms of mechanics. Additionally, this trailer finally revealed the graphics and visuals of Frostpunk 2, as well as its UI.
