Fugue is one of the new upcoming 5-star characters in Honkai Star Rail. This Foxian’s limited-time banner is set to be released in the second phase of the upcoming version 2.7 patch and will expire right before v3.0 goes live. Fugue treads on the Nihility Path, meaning she will excel in debuffing her enemies and allow her teammates, especially the DPS unit, to deal a significant amount of damage.

Since most of Fugue's abilities assist the BE (Break Effect) characters, players with a decent Break Effect team Composition may wonder if they should pull for Fugue to boost the team’s potency. This article discusses whether Fugue is worth pulling in Honkai Star Rail version 2.7.

Brief summary of Fugue’s abilities in Honkai Star Rail

  • Basic ATK: Fugue attacks the target of this ability, dealing a decent amount of Fire damage.
  • Enhanced Basic ATK: Fugue deals Fire damage to three adjacent enemies.
  • Skill: When this ability is activated, Fugue bestows the targeted ally a buff named “Foxian Prayer” and enters the “Torrid Scorch” state. The "Foxian Prayer" buff boosts the allied characters' Break Effect, and when they attack an enemy who doesn't have the corresponding weakness type, each hit lowers the latter's toughness bar. When Fugue is in the “Torrid Scorch” state, she can reduce the opponent’s DEF stat when an ally with the Foxian Prayer attacks an adversary.
  • Ultimate: Upon activation, Fugue deals Fire damage to all opponents ignoring their weakness type. Additionally, this attack reduces their Toughness and activates the Fire Weakness Break Effect whenever an ally inflicts Weakness Break.
  • Passive Talent: Fugue inflicts the Cloudflame Luster just by staying on the battlefield. The opponents take more Weakness Break damage when the Cloudflame Luster debuff’s value goes down to zero. If the allies attack a Weakness Broken opponent, they take additional Super Break Damage.
  • Technique: Upon activation, the nearby adversaries will be affected by the “Daze” effect. The enemies under this ability’s effect will not attack any allied characters for 10 seconds. When entering battle by attacking an enemy affected by the aforementioned effect, Fugue inflicts them with her Skill’s DEF reduction state for two turns.

Break Effect characters and team compositions are currently dominating the game's meta. While most BE teams feature one DPS, two buffers, and one healer/sustainer (the usual hypercarry lineup), Fugue’s release will make this playstyle more interesting since she is a debuffer. This Foxian can be easily placed in most teams similar to Ruan Mei. However, her value in BE teams is off the charts.

If you don’t have Ruan Mei and want to boost your Break Effect team’s potency, Fugue is the character you should be pulling.

Yes, you should pull for Fugue in Honkai Star Rail version 2.7. If you already have a good Break Effect team composition and are looking for an upgrade, Fugue is the perfect choice for you. She can easily help you clear most end-game activities and is remarkably strong in various farming domains. Judging by how her abilities work, Fugue can easily fit into several BE teams featuring either Firefly or Rappa and boost their outgoing damage by a significant amount.

With Fugue’s release, players can build team compositions with only one buffer. That means those who do not have Ruan Mei can easily use this Foxian as a replacement that is just as good as the Genius Society member.
