Halo Infinite was released back in 2021, but it is still worth playing in 2024. Almost three years after its launch, the shooter boasts a lively player base. When it was launched, the game was heavily criticized for lacking content and delivering an unpolished experience. That is why all the hype surrounding its release quickly died.

However, Halo Infinite has come a long way, and its developer, 343 Industries, has constantly been working to improve the experience for all. The studio is still pushing updates to improve the game and introducing new content to keep their fans happy.

In this article, we will take a look at three reasons why Halo Infinite is worth your time in 2024.

Three reasons why Halo Infinite is worth playing in 2024

It's free-to-play

Although Halo Infinite's campaign mode will cost you money, its multiplayer mode is completely free to play. You can download the shooter right now on your PC or Xbox console and get started without paying a single dime. You can always give the game a try, and if you don't like it, at least you aren't losing any money.

Furthermore, being a free-to-play title makes the title more accessible to everyone. If you want to drop into a fun session with your buddies, they don't have to own the full game; just downloading the multiplayer client will get the work done.

This low bar of entry is one of the major reasons why the shooter stands strong to date, and this is reflected in the player count. On Steam alone back in February 2024, the game had a peak count of nearly 12000 players.

Halo Forge

As mentioned earlier, one of the reasons Halo Infinite is worth playing in 2024 is the community, and all the credit for this goes to the Forge.

For those who are new to the franchise, the Forge is a level editor built into the game. It essentially allows players to create their own custom maps, modes, and more, making the title more community-driven.

One of the game modes that came out of the Forge and recently rose to popularity is Survive the Undead, which is a Call of Duty-like round-based zombies mode. It initially began as a community project built by the talented team at Forge Falcons. Survive the Undead was well received by the community, which led it to become a part of an official matchmaking playlist.

The Forge keeps the community active by allowing players to experiment with the game in a host of different ways. This keeps things from getting stale over time and is one of the reasons why you should consider playing Halo Infinite in the year 2024.

Halo Infinite at its finest

As mentioned earlier, Halo Infinite wasn't quite liked by fans when it launched. However, three years later, it's a completely different game. The title has come a long way, with its developer constantly working to improve it and make it more palatable for fans.

Although it is far from perfect, the shooter has gone through multiple updates that have made it a stable and nearly bug-free experience. If you were an early adopter and you didn't like how the game played back in the day, you should definitely give it a shot now.

In 2024, the title provides the classic Halo experience with no pay-to-win elements and simple yet fun gameplay, which is a breath of fresh air in the era of competitive gaming.
