Is there a multiplayer and co-op mode in Stalker 2?

The highly anticipated title Stalker 2 will be released soon, and from the trailers and leaked gameplay footage, the game looks absolutely stunning. However, one of the major queries that fans of the franchise have is whether or not the game will feature a co-op and an online multiplayer mode, which will not be present in the game.

Stalker 2 will only feature an offline campaign without a co-op mode. The game is meant to be enjoyed alone. Even though there is a small possibility that the game might feature a co-op mode later on, it won't be available on launch day. Developers reveal insights into the multiplayer and co-op modes of Stalker 2

The developers of the game GSC Game World previously confirmed that the multiplayer will feature PvP, a classic deathmatch mode, and a team deathmatch mode. Talking about why there is no co-op, game director Evgeniy Grygorovych stated:

"It is impossible to add a co-op mode without ruining the experience of overcoming the difficulties on your own."

Grygorovych also disclosed that the campaign itself will not be easy to finish:

"We didn't want to make the game easy for the player, because we believe that this would kill the grip of reality. If the player can easily make mistakes, cannot die, get the hit points regenerated... no, it's not a Stalker experience then."

Will Stalker 2 come on Xbox Game Pass?

The Xbox Game Pass allows players to enjoy various titles at a nominal price, and many games get featured on the Xbox Game Pass on release day. Stalker 2 will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day. However, the game will only be available to those who have the Ultimate Edition of the Xbox Game Pass and not for Core or Standard Edition subscribers..

The Ultimate Edition Game Pass costs $19.99 per month, which is still cheaper than the base price of Stalker 2.

Stalker 2 is an Xbox Exclusive title; therefore, it will only be available on Xbox consoles and PC. The game will not be available on PlayStation or the Nintendo Switch. Do note that the game is only available on the next generation of Xbox, i.e., you will need an Xbox Series X/S to experience the game.
